Why did CONNECT start?
The Kids Research Institute Australia has had a strong community of supporters and contributors since we started in 1990. The WA community have contributed in many different ways – as study participants, as fundraisers, as volunteers, through informing and shaping our research, sharing our research news, and advocating for change. Through CONNECT we want to strengthen our connection with our community. It gives the community new ways of being part of The Kids and gives us a better way to engage with our community and recognise their contributions. With input from the community and other stakeholders, we have developed the CONNECT program to provide a range of opportunities for the community to be genuinely engaged with the Institute.
